If you’re a Snapchat newbie and have decided to jump in and give it a go, then there is a heap of information out there. A lot of it is repeated so I’ve put together a great list of articles that cover all of the different aspects of understanding how Snapchat works as well as why it’s working for brands. I’ve also trawled through all of the most recent articles so that there is no out dated information (so pay heed – publishing in July 2016 – so will be outdated within a few months).
Hands up if Facebook is no longer giving you the awareness and traffic to your business that it used to? Maybe Snapchat is the answer?
Snapchat users are mostly in the 18-34 year old category, it has the highest engagement rate of all of the social platforms and it's the new kid on the block. If your target audience sits in this sweet spot, perhaps Snapchat is worth your consideration.
Snapchat - the key takeaways:
- Content as entertainment is still top dog and without great content to post, you are dead in the water.
- There's no measurement currently available on Snapchat.
- Be sure you're audience is on Snapchat before you give it a whirl.
- It's getting crowded very quickly... it's almost too late for any early adopter advantage.
Snapchat leaves a lot of people bewildered with exactly what it’s purpose is, but apart from your kid’s obsession with it, is there an opportunity to leverage it for your business?
